Male Pvalb (Cre/+); Nlgn3 (y/-) mice were generated by crossing Pvalb (+/+);Nlgn3 (+/-) dams with Pvalb (Cre/Cre);Nlgn3 (y/+) sires. Littermates with the genotype Pvalb (Cre/+); Nlgn3 (y/+) were used as controls. Nlgn3 null allele contains a stop cassette flanked by loxP sites in the promoter region and lack Nlgn3 expression (Tanaka KF, et al., 2010; PMID 20163789). Cre driven by endogenous Pvalb promoter reverses the stop cassette in Pvalb-expressing cells to reinstate Nlgn3 expression in those cells. |
