Mecp2 dNIC STOP mice with insertion of a floxed transcriptional STOP cassette in intron 2 of the Mecp2 dNIC gene. Mice are carrying inducible cre-ERt. Treatment with tamoxifen induces cre-ERt expression and results in the removal of the STOP cassette and expression of Mecp2 dNIC. Individuals were given a series of tamoxifen injections: one at 6 weeks of age, one at 7 weeks of age, and five daily injections at 8 weeks of age, each at a dose of 100 g/g (body weight). |
