Relevance to Autism
A rare variant in the GRPR gene has been identified with autism (Ishikawa-Brush et al., 1997). However, no genetic association was found between GRPR and autism in a Japanese population cohort. In addition, no rare variants were found in the GRPR gene during a screen of Rett syndrome patients.
Molecular Function
The encoded protein has G-protein coupled receptor activity.
